Hello and a very warm welcome! My name’s Bella and I’m reporting to you ‘live’ from ‘The Chatterbox’ within Silver Birch Dell! It’s all been rather busy as we’re about to launch our next two books but I still had time to do our ‘Big Interview’ for July!
This month, I have interviewed a vital member of our team called Andrew Hirshman who popped by our office…
What do you do in the team?
I am the company finance and commercial director. My job is making sure we have enough money in our bank account to be able to pay all of our bills. I also oversee all the areas where we can develop new business opportunities so that our books are available in as many places as possible for people to be able to buy. I am also good at making the coffee at our team meetings apparently!
Who is your favourite character?
My favourite is Bella Honeysuckle because she is kind, calm and respectful to everyone. I love her colourful house!
How do you know the number of books to order?
It is important to know how long it takes to create and print a book as there are a lot of different processes involved. It is fascinating! I have to find out how many books we are selling each week then I work out how many we have left. From that information I can decide on numbers. We would not want to let anyone down by running out!
What is your favourite story so far?
Giuseppe Spaghetti and the Flowers as it made me cry with laughter. It’s a very funny and sweet story. Every time I read it I really laugh out loud. The illustrations are very good. My best friend is Italian and I always laugh as I think of him but don’t tell him!
